It’s been a while since I shared a writing update. Life has kept me busy, but I’ve still been spending much of my free time writing. And apparently, I’ve let quite a bit of news pile up.
First, The Reckoning is nearing publication!
This standalone revenge story takes place in the world of The Story of Rain, leaving the familiar deserts of Nan’kadur behind to introduce Aeros.
Thirty years ago, Aeros laid down his swords. Then his wife was murdered. Now, as the Wolves gather again, he sets out to hunt down her killer.
The story unfolds across two timelines: a brutal war fought a hundred years ago and the present, where that past still has consequences.
I’m excited to finally share this one with you. I’ll announce the release date once it’s ready.
Twenty Years Later
I’ve also been working on a new series set twenty years after the original trilogy. Familiar characters return, alongside new faces and places I’ve been looking forward to exploring.
Here’s where things stand:
- Fury of the Lost — rough draft complete.
- Whispers of War — rough draft complete.
- Oaths of the Forsaken — rough draft complete.
- Embers of Home — currently writing.
- Weight of the Blade — outlined.
At this point, I expect the series to span nine books. Yes, nine. There’s still plenty of editing and polishing ahead, but I’m happy with how much of the story is already on the page.
It feels good to share some of that progress after spending so long with my head down.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. Which characters, places, or unanswered questions from The Story of Rain have stayed with you? What would you like to see explored?
Thanks for reading—and for sticking around.
